Kornati National Park

The Kornati archipelago of Croatia is located in the northern part of Dalmatia, west from Primošten, in the Šibenik-Knin county.

Its lenght is 35 km (22miles) and it is famous for its 140 islands, some large, some small who extend in a sea area of about 320 square kilometres.

In 1980 Kornati archipelago was declared a national park. The most important places on the Kornati islands are:  the shallow channel Mala Proversa, the oval-shaped Taljurič island, Špinata Bay, Stivina Bay, island Levrnaka, Piškera island, Smokvica Vela island, the Opat peninsula and many others.
